Problem with XP Pro install

Fresh install > got through format> first installation process> auto reboot> doesn't pick up where it left off..... I have never had this problem before?

nvm... doh! forgot to switch the boot back to hdd.

thats wierd, i never have to fiddle with the bios. i can just choose what boot device i want to load first either through the bios, or a separate menu when i turn the laptop on. cant you just set it to, first boot device: CD ROM Second boot device: HDD , etc?

Yeah, thats how I had it set, but after the restart the first boot needs to be the
hdd.

You shouldn't need to switch it at all, just don't press a button as it's booting and it should go to the HDD after like ten seconds.
