Sata Drives not working

Ok, so in vista 32 bit neither my dvd/cd or hdd is working. Neither of them are being detected by bios... This is a new pc too. The Mobo is http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131022

make sure all the cables are firmly in. and can u explain to me how u have them placed, like on the IDE cable.

what do u mean they wont open up?

cuz that mobo only has one IDE chanel, so it should go, MOBO > HD > CD/DVD
i have almost the same mobo and i had the same problem.

ur Hard drive should come first on the IDE cable

How much power can your power supply handle, and can you hear the hard drive spin up when you power on the computer?
