things I'd be willing to change still are the hard drive and cpu. E8400 comes in 28th!

i think you should get the E8400, and a good cooler .
i read that it overclocks like a dream , i know u just said in the PM that you proberly wont overclock but thats what i thort too before i built mine
you will start to feel the need for MORE POWER
now im at 3.4ghz...hehehe

so i think you should invest in a good CPU cooler , i can't remember witch one but one of the tuniq towers are great

Wow Vitaminx, you are really indecisive !! Or perhaps you just want to get the most for your money .
I did some more searching and still couldn't find a Wolfdale for a reasonable price so stick with the E6750, it's still a great CPU. I would personally get some Corsair or Mushkin RAM but it's not my money . You do know EVGA's step-up program is only valid for 90 days though, don't you?

Yea man. I was really hesitant about this ram. But over on Overclock.net I had a thread going on about it. And G.Skill won hands down.

I probably won't be stepping up to the 9800. I think the 8800 is just fine from the reviews I've read.

I agree, the 9800GTX barely performs better than the 8800GTS 512MB, so I don't think it's worth waiting for. They'll all still use the G92 core.
But I did notice this in the page you linked to:

With Intel, memory bandwidth is everything.

This guy obviously doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.
EDIT: OMG, I found another post by this guy:

For what basically amounts to the same price, you get a 25% jump in memory speed with no downside.... umm, yeah, I'd say the 1000Mhz memory is the better bet.

Please don't listen to him. Having 800MHz RAM instead of 1066MHz will NOT bring 25% more performance.

he never said it would. He just said that the memory clock speed increases by about 25%. Though he probably was wrong about having no downsides, usually those fast ram sticks have higher latencies.

never heard much about corsair psu's but I'd guess they are really good since usually corsair products are top quality and the specs look nice.
But this one is about the same thing. It's just a lot cheaper. Only real difference that I can see is the corsair having modular cables and the ocz having more amps. (though the extra amps probably won't matter that much since the corsais already has plenty)

If the price difference is significant, then yes, the performance difference will be negligble. If however, the price difference is small, then why not get the faster stuff?
BTW, the Corsair HX range is made by Seasonic, the OCZ PSUs are made by the FSP Group.
