Computer build re-done, What ya think?

Well I'm hoping everything :) Going to be so nice with 4gb's of ram. I hate only having one at the moment. Dont even have a video card. Quick question, if my laptop has had its hard drive replaced numerous times and even still it runs very very slow and freezes up. Could the source most likely be that its running on 512mb of ram? XP os.

If it turns on very slowly, it helps a lot to turn off some of the startup programs. Type "MSCONFIG" into "run" and then click on the startup tab and disable the unneeded programs. This should speed it up a fair bit at startup. This way you should be able to get by with 512 in XP.

Ya thats why its running so slow. I think 512mb is the minimum recommended requirement.

No i believe theres a cpu issue. When I ctrl alt delete it says the cpu usage is 100% when im not doing anything. Idles at 100%. I think I'll get the RAM up'd to 2gbs and the cpu replaced. What ya think? Good to go then?

Well build is almost complete. Just bought some G.Skill 2x2GB 1000MHz (just sold out today lol) and that new 640GB (2x320GB platter) hard drive from Western Digital. All thats left to do is buy some accessories and of course the heatsink still lol. I'm a nub, can't decide. And also the case.

My build re-done. What you all think? Are all products compatible with each other?

3) Samsung 7200.11 vs the 7200.10 for the 32mb of cache virtually the same price.

4) asus is a great brand, i prefer gigabyte, but either is great!

yea actually i did get an e8400 :D and i did get corsair 620hx for buy.com lol. got the 1000mhz ram when it was 94$ now its sold out lol i got lucky on a lot of this stuff. As for the asus board ima stick with it because i got some tech dude over on overclock.net telling me all the certain things my bios needs to be set to. As for what you said in #3 i got the new western digital 640gb hard drive. posting very very impressive scores on anandtech.com got that for cheap as well before price went back up.
