What is a good Avi player?

I have Window Media Player 11 and that won't play my AVI files. Does anybody know of a good free avi player. I would like to be able to be able to make the movie I am watching fill my whole screen if the player has that option. Thanks

yea but i dont think you can adjust the screen size in wmp11 like in vlc

hit alt enter to make it full screen, but still it is a nice player man

i just cant stand the black bits when watching a film. vlc sorts that. i dunno why it just distracts me from the film lol. its all these wide screen movies thats why
