I'll start off by saying I'm 15 years old and have some knowledge about computers but I'm not expert and want to start understanding things more.
I have an old computer which originally had windows 98 but now has 2000 and has a Pentium III processor. I wanted to build a totally new computer but figured it might be easier to just upgrade the old one so I don't have to buy new optical drives, power supply (200W), HDD and a case. What I know want to do is replace the processor, RAM, mobo and videocard.
Here are the parts I'm looking into getting:
Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116036
Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188017
RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134635
Video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102536
Are those parts all compatible with each other? Will I be able to swap out those for the parts i currently have?
If you need any more info about something let me know and I appreciate any help, thanks!
P.S. What does it mean that is is "Open Box"? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813153075R
