Apple iBook G4 HELP!

Hey, I purchased a Apply iBook G4 from somone and they explained it was locked into his old school settings and I would be able to clean the hard drive and load a newer OS on it and start new, But there is a admin on it and I do not have the password to and I cannot do anything (upgrade,change settings etc.) to the computer without the password. I don't know if there is anyother way I can upgrade around it or delete everything from the computer like he said and than start off new with the start up disk I have.

please help me!!!

Cant you boot off of a Newer OS Disc? I Know you could do this with the Older mac os's (OS 7 and 8).

Have you asked your friend for the password?

Yeah, that was the issue where he got it from he couldn't get the password. Or no one has it? (go figure) Uhm when I do put the disc in and try to boot I get the message I don't have the authrization to do it so I wanted to know if there was a way I could just delete the entire HD, before it even boots pretty much a complete clean

Being a mac n00b,i'd say reaplce the hardrive with a new one,and then install OSX.
