Dual 9800GX2 or Triple 8800Ultra?

Hi, i'm Kevin, i'm new to Computer Forums.
You can see my two builds AQUOS and ROGUE on my signature for information. You could say i'm a hardcore gamer.

I was wondering, with the release of the 9800GX2's, whether I should upgrade AQUOS from its current triple 8800Ultra setup to dual 9800GX2's (I read somewhere that its impossible to have triple 9800GX2's). Will 2 9800GX2's be faster than 3 8800Ultra's?

I have 1 9800GX2 on ROGUE and I find it quite good, but I can't exactly compare ROGUE & AQUOS because theres 3 cards vs. 1 card, and theres no other PCI-E connectors on ROGUE to test out whether 2 9800GX2's will beat AQUOS's triple setup.

Has anybody compared these two builds? All articles online regarding the 9800GX2 seem to give me mixed answers about its performance.

Oh, and is QUAD-SLI possible with the 9800GX2? If so, I might consider getting a motherboard capable of that for AQUOS, so I can upgrade from 3x8800Ultras to 4x9800GX2's.

just lookin' out for ya dude, they used to get pretty crazy about that around here, though I haven't been on here much lately...

back to your question, do they even have quad-sli mobos...? I've never seen one...

its the atis attempt at making a sli counterpart to the triple sli nvidias, go with a 780 or 790 and try for as many 9800gx2s you can get, man.

i think quad is possible wit the 9800gx2s, and itd probably beat the triple 88ultra's by a little bit.

Hahah not exactly.. I worked for and paid for them myself, and maybe you could consider me a child... 26 and in my own townhouse.

Anybody know any good motherboards that support DDR3-1333 and quad-SLI with PCI-E 2.0 that I could put the four 9800gx2's on?

And yes, Crysis is pretty good, its pretty hefty though; I only get about 36-44fps on average at 1920x1200 on max on AQUOS.

like i said don't use crossfire the data loss rate is terrible on those, try a 700 series nvidia mobo.

no, the new aboards from crossfire support a 4 pci express bus, but they are very weak and like i have said before prone to dat loss and poorer graphics as far as bandwidths...
