Once you have vista you can' degrade to windows xp or something like that.

Not true. If the hard drive is formatted, or even partitioned you can install windows XP on it. That rumor exists because most people don't realize their motherboards have RAID enabled so the XP disk does not recognize their drive.

Well I wiped the drive and downgraded to XP, and most everything works fine, except for the fact that my computer won't recognize the wireless card that came with it. But that is on another thread...
