partition magic help

i recently deleted my partition by mistake on my 300gb usb.
i purchased partition magic.
tried to use the undelete feture.
it keeps failing in the middle of the process.
what else can i do with this program to get it back?
or am i out the money that i spent on it and need another?
if someone can please help me out that would be great!

What kind of computer, what kind of HD, what OS??

its a computer i built... amd 3400 gig of ram .... i have a sata hard drive that i run my os on, windows xp pro... and the partition im trying to get back is on my 300gig usb hard drive......

in partition magic, if i creat new partition, does it format my hard drive? or leave all the data in tact, and just replace the partition i deleted by mistake
