HP notebook webcam and microphone.

My HP DV9700T has a built in webcam and microphone, every time I go to sound recorder or to record the webcam and sound via the software that was provided by hp, the pc freezes up. What could be the problem for this? Could it be a driver issue with the webcam and microphone? I went to device manager and tried to upgrade the drivers for the webcam but it said that the best driver for it was already installed. Also when I use the webcam with yahoo messenger it freezes and then works for a couple mins, then freezes again, then works for a couple mins.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Actually, no I don't think it has always been this way. I can remember using the webcam with yahoo messenger and not having a problem with it. And the first few times I'd used the webcam and sound recording software it was working okay.....hmm

Did you install any recent software or drivers that could of caused this problem?

hmm....I've installed a couple things since then, but I don't think they would have anything to do with it. Just a couple games is all. It wasn't that long ago that this has happened.

It works good when I plug in my usb headset and use that with sound recorder.
