dual core processor

Core 2 Duo is simply the name Intel has given their Dual Core technology archetecture.

No, but it gives them more designing room to improve the workings inside the chip, which could result in an increase in speed (I think)

Are you not talking about the Pentium Dual cores (E21xx series) and the C2Ds. If you are then the only difference is that the Pentium Dual cores only have 1MB of L2 Cache. They are built using the same architecture as the C2Ds.

Im not really sure what cache is.

I know in Mozilla it has an option to clear cache?

Edit: Is it something to do with memory like how much ram it uses?

Cache is memory which the processor uses to store information in before sending it through to the chipset and then to the RAM or GPU.
