Vista problem

I put this in Operating Systems but have not received any replies.

Windows says it can't check for updates. Okay so I try to do it manually through internet explorer by going into tools then windows update and nothing comes up. Any ideas why it will not let me check for updates? Also it won't let me go into my control panel at all. Cannot figure why it's doing this. I don't not have any viruses or anything, it started doing this yesterday. I tried going into my computer then going into install/delete programs and go into windows update stuff, but will not let me go there either. I tried restoring to an earlier date and windows repair, nothing, it wont work, please help me, I do not want to reinstall windows.

Strange, I haven't heard of this problem. Did you google it?

Yeah, I saw that some people had some sort of licensing problem so I did what it said to do but that didn't do shi*t

Got it working, it's the SP1 Beta, I had to go into safemode to delete it
