yea cause you can take your old drive if its good and use the monitor. personally, if i was going for a top end gfx id wait for the 9800 but a 8800 GTS (g92) is fine

yea, I'd need a monitor, cd/dvd drive, etc.. Probably also have to buy Windows? and I'm not sure if I really need such a beefy processor

It's also possible that instead of the 8800GT I could use the 8600GT if they are not that far apart, I'll be looking at some charts for both to see.

Thats not true, there is a big diff between the too cards, (sorry I thought you were answering the original posters question)

People go out and buy this huge harddrives with that same thinking, then you look at there free-space and they have over 100gbs.

150gb's is a lot. An average game is 5gb's, even if you had a ridiculous 10 games thats only 30gb's. And your not probably going to use more than 30gb's for music (which is a hell of a lot of music, and I have never met someone who actually had 50 gb's of music). Leaving 80gb's for system files (which only take up 2gbs), and 48 for other miscellaneous stuff.

No disrespect to you, but most people don't even use half of the space provided by their harddrive. Maybe you have a 100gb+ music collection, but the vast majority of people don't and they just waste their money on a larger hdd when they would see better improvements in a faster harddrive.

I have an 80gb harddrive, and I consider myself a power user. I have cs:s, tf2, cod4, coh, wow, c&c3, bioshock, and fifa soccer, (which I think is a pretty large game collection). Plus a backup of the 10gb's of music on my ipod. And I have only used up half of my harddrive space. There is absolutely no reason for an average user to have a 320gb harddrive. 150gb should be suffice for %95 of power-users out there.
