Anyway to make Vista Faster?

The only Game I own for PC is WOW and its the only game I play on it so I wouldnt say I do alot of gaming on it. What would be the best and cheapest ram to get?

This RAM Will Max out the amount of RAM your Laptop supports. I would Recommend more RAM, but If I was you i would buy another HD first.

Personally, I do believe Vista's way of managing system resources differs a lot from XP, which could be a problem why it's being slow. Although, HP has a great tendency to install bloatware. If you have anything Norton or McAffee, please uninstall.
Get Avast Home Edition. Other than being free, it's much more effective.

If you can, you could grab a copy of Vista Retail, and inplement your own product key, and it'll get rid of all bloatware that it has. Also, afterwards, you'll need to run CCleaner (Download) and clean anything missing or remaining.

Also, since you have a gig, you could increase performance by unselecting unwanted applications from the startup tab in msconfig. Also, you could do a bit of research on Google on how to speed up Vista.
Solution: Downgrade to xp, or get 4 gigs of ram.

What is it with you and such unhelpful answers?

I cant go to 4 GIGs? On HP's Site it says you can have 2 to 4 gigs on certain computers. I cant find if mine will take 4. The actual model info is HP Pavilion dv6235nr Notebook PC. I would get the ram first because its the cheapest. If it doesnt do it then I will upgrade the HDD.

Your laptops motherboard supports a maximum RAM speed of PC2-5300. What you are getting is PC2-4200. PC2-5300 is down compatible with slower speeds. Also even though the RAM you are getting is slower than the maximum RAM speed your laptop supports, you wouldn't notice a difference if you got the faster speed of RAM.
