Just about ready for my first build

Reading and writing data speed increases with the RPM. But you can only get a 10k RPM drive with capacities of 150GB and below. You could just get a 500GB 7200RPM HDD to go with the 10K RPM Raptor, but we're on a $900 budget here, so it's probably best if you get a 7200RPM drive and wait a couple of seconds more for things to load.
 
The E6600, E6700 are 1066MHz FSB parts and also are also older B2 revisions of the Core 2 Duos. The E6750, E6850 etc are 1333MHz FSB parts and are newer G0 revisions of the Core 2 Duos which make them more energy efficient and iron out a few bugs. Both those types of CPUs are manufactured using the 65nm process. The E8200, E8400 and E8500 are the new 45nm C2Ds. They feature 6MB of L2 Cache compared to the 4MB of the older C2Ds, they are also available at slightly higher clock speeds (3.19GHz).
