Question about general wireless networking.

Alright, here's my situation:

I recently moved my desktop PC to my room from the office (about 30 feet, thin walls). Only problem now is, I don't get a signal from my router. (well, I do, but it's too weak to even use) I also have a 360 hooked up to the monitor, and now it doesn't get a signal either.

If I buy a Hi-gain antenna for my PC, will it "repeat" the signal for my 360 to pick up? Or will I have to buy the antenna AND a repeater if I want both?

I think an antenna would boost the signal enough for both your computer and the 360. I had major problems with my network when I installed a new computer a few rooms away (almost no signal), but the problem ended up being Vista and NOT my signal.

Can anyone else verify if an antenna will be enough for a good signal? Also, what did vista have to do with this? That makes me nervous since I plan to upgrade soon.

The repeater seems a little too complicated for me to set up...

If I buy that antenna, wouldn't it "repeat" the signal for my 360 to pick up anyway?
