Great free programs

What free programs/software do you guys use, stuff from www.download.com and etc... MUST BE LEGIT nothing illegal.

softpedia has some good gear too.

I'll have to check what I have that is freeware/shareware before I start listing things.

One I did get while it was freeware and has since become pay to use is EndItAll2, a handy little app for closing background apps for benching etc, I believe there are still links for the freeware version on the net, Google will help there.

Most, if not all programs there are freeware, shareware, or a limited trial (you can keep the program as long as you want, but some features are disabled)

Some freebies I use: AVG Free Edition, Spybot Search & Destroy, HijackThis.. Well, I have more, but I don't feel like finding them, lol. Those are the three I use the most, though.

I use AVG Free - Antivirus, Antispyware and Antirootkit.

I'll check out the Hippo, thanks for that, always good to explore new sites.

7zip is a free alternative to WINrar. Just as many features if not more.

COMODO. Great security system. Disable the HIPS application though. Get's very annoying. I also use Microsoft VB, C#, and C++ express 2008. all free from their website. Gimp and Paint.net are great programs too. I also use notepad++. But it really depends on what you use your computer for.
