Graphics Card Problem.

Help please...but I think I know the answer.

Got an X800GTO AGP grpahics card. Just today, screen on TFT went blank. Tried old CRT monitor...no output.Replaced X800 with old NVIDIA FX5200 and output on screen came back. Put X800 back in and as soon as power went on, fan went mental...but still no screen output. Got old FX5200 back in now and fine again.

Any ideas...looks bad in my eyes. If the old bird is dead, any recommendations for next card.

Yes it definitely doesn't look good for your X800. You could try it in another PC just in case. And for the new card, post the rest of your specs first.

I agree. i think the card is bad: but, do what worshipme had stated to do. This will at least eliminate some possibilities. If the card works in another computer, then there is more troubleshooting that needs to be done.

if it is agp. the choice of a new video card is very limiting , but if you dont do any gaming there are a few good cards on the market that i can recommend

There's an X1950XTX AGP...that's not all that far off your video card cryman.

It's not quite 8800GTS performance but it's still a decent card.
