Yeah, thats a pretty good temperature in that case.
Check it with a good program like Coretemp when you are into Windows.

You should be fine installing an OS now

Its at around 40c at windows and when doing things it doesnt go past 47/48.
I have another problem though, my internet is not connecting. It says 'Invalid IP address' in the status of the connection.

yeah i did. It has happened lots of times, cant remember how i fixed it though.

Guys, is a GPU Temp of 66 on idle bad?
EDIT: I Have a 8600 GTS 512MB Nvidia Geforce

That's about right. My 8800GTS is at 61°C.

Mines at about 51 degrees idle, BUT isn't the 512mb a single slot?
Mine is a double slot, so the fan mechanism is obviously more powerful than your 512mb version, though isn't the core also smaller in it?

My temps at idle are, CPU: 41 GPU: 61 System: 31
Good?
And yes my GPU is a single slot.
