What it exactly says at startup is 'Floppy Disk Fail (40)" and then shuts off
there is no floppy connected

Sounds like something else is failing. If you got 2 sticks of ram in there, take out one and try, if it still restarts, switch out the sticks. If that doesn't work, maybe just try resetting the BIOS. Unplug the system, take out the BIOS battery for a while.

If you don't have a floppy then that may be the reason you're getting that error. The motherboard is looking for a floppy drive at boot. Go into your BIOS and set the floppy drive type to none, and disable Floppy Drive Seek under Advanced or Chipset settings. Most computers still expect a floppy drive and look for one at boot up.

you dont need a floopy full stop.
just temperly . disconnect all floopy connections and try again

Only problem is that it shuts off when i go into Bios cause it does it automatically when that error occurs, but i'll connect a floppy drive and see what happens, it shoud work

If that doesn't cure the problem, it could also be entirely possible that you have a bad motherboard.

so what have you try .
have u tryed connecting the floopy and booting
