I recently decided to start building a gaming computer. I know that I want nothing but the best, but I must keep price in mind. So far, I've decided on the following components:

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
CPU: AMD Athalon 64 X2 5600+
Ram: DDR Kingston- 333MHz

And thats all.
I dont know much about the specifics about any of them, so I dont know whats compatible. Also, I already have the case.
However, I do need help deciding what motherboard to buy, and anything else I'll need to keep in mind while I plan and build this computer.
Thanks in advance.

Get a Q6600 and if you're going to get a GTS get the 640mb. Get 2 gigs DDR2 800mhz Ram. If you already have the case you gotta know what form factor it is in order to get the proper motherboard to fit into it.

Okay.
I have a Nemesis Elite box.
I dont know much about it because, like I said, I've never built one.
Also, does this motherboard come with a built in sound card?
And how big of a hard drive will I need and what kind?
Lastly, what power supply will I need?

Szat, why the 640? Isn't the 512mb version faster? I believe it is.
The 640mb one is the older version?

as Verbatim said, give us some specs you wish to run..games, O/S, apps (intensive such as photoshop, vid. editing, etc)....

you are definately gunna want ddr2 ram...not ddr

Celegorm..nice pick..I have that exact same hd and it was worth every penny....you could check out seagates 500gb drive that's a 7200.11..but some reviews are reporting them being a bit buggy..I was going to get one, but I'll wait a bit to upgrade and see if the bugs get fixed

Try these as specs:

Processor

About: 550.00 $$ for this, excellent gaming system, can run crysis probably around the high/ultra section. If that tells you anything.

With this you can upgrade to AMD Quad Phenoms later when they lower price and they also can work out the remaining bugs.

Plus the Raptor is an excellent drive and WD is an excellent company, I currently own a 74gb version that has lasted me about 4 years, excellent!
Fast file transfer and you can look up benches.
