I'm surprised that no one else has made one of these threads.
If you missed it, today a miracle happened in the United States. Some anonymous bidder, (perhaps Google? they did say this was their strategy), pushed the bidding for the national spectrum of the coveted 'C' block, (700 mhz), over the reserve of $4.6 billion.
That means open-access is here ladies and gentlemen. No more closed networks. I believe the high bidder on this will be Verizon; as they have the most purchasing power and they need this to complete their LTE (Long Term network Evolution) plan. If Verizon got this it would increase their data speeds and their service in general. And me being a Verizon customer, would be very happy.
