I don't think the amount of radiation given off is enough to really worry about that.
And as far as vibrant goes, I've compared a 1000:1 19" LCD to this 19" CRT.
I honestly believe theres no contest between the two. It might be a little sharper on the LCD, but the colors are just washed out IMO.
Maybe you stop noticing after you get used to it, but I'm roughing it with this CRT for as long as I can.
These things last a very long time. My old monitor is a Packard Bell from 1995. Still works perfectly to this day. Image quality is still as good now as it was then.
LCDs, for me, serve one great purpose: Lan Parties. They put off less heat, they weight practically nothing, and thanks to them you can fit twice as many people on one table. I may buy an LCD just for that.
