PLEASE help with windows time

I double click the time on the windows toolbar, a window comes up with a calendar and clock. i set the date to the current date and time as well, but when i click apply or OK, it sets back to 2005. because of this I can't go on AIM, because somehow AIM requires you to have your computer time matched up with theirs, but i cant adjust my time to the current time!! please help!! without aim, my life sucks.

Enter the BIOS at boot and set the correct time there. If that doesn't hold, you may need a new CMOS battery

nooooooo, it didn't work. what other problems could it be if its not the battery? I mean, as soon as i click APPLY, the time goes to 2005, NOT after i restart my computer.

Is that still in windows, or in BIOS?

Did you set the correct time in the BIOS and then save before continuing to boot into Windows?

yep.

Did BIOS keep the correct time? If it did, you probally have a virus. If BIOS didn't keep the time right, then get a new CMOS battery.

the BIO clock did not keep the correct time! this means i need a new battery right? thank you so much people!

Yup, time for a new battery. They can be found at nearly any Longs drugstore or whatever you have nearby.
