first of all, ask as many questions as you need. No question is a dumb question, and that is the only way you learn. People feel that only children ask questions, and that when yu become a certain age, it is inappropriate. But, that is not logical at all. Not for CrossFire. One of the selling points of CF was the ability to run two different cards from different manufacturers and still get boosted graphics. SLI on the other hand had to be the same exact model, but brand didn't have to be the same.
I'm not sure, but I think NVIDIA already corrected that with driver updates.
oh cool thanks for the update, didn't know that.. thats interesting, its kind of like putting harddrives in raid, they give you options so that you can use different size harddrives.
According to the AMD/ATI Crossfire FAQ ATI video cards need to have matching GPUs to run in Crossfire. There are a few variations with the the X1950 and older cards, but all newer models need to match.
