command to connect and disconnect to adsl internet

Any body know the commands to do in ms dos to connect and to disconnect to adsl internet ?
i have sagem f@st 800/840 modem and win xp sp2

If you just wish to issue a new ip address i believe ipconfig/release then ipconfig/renew dpes the job if you wish to properly disconnect the network i dont know

With an external modem, their is no way to issue a command to connect and disconnect (Unless it supports telnet, which is highly unlikely)

ok do you wish to disconnect from the modem or do you want the modem to disconect from the internet ??


easiest way for modem to disconect from internet = pull the phone cable out the back,

easiest way for you to disconect from the modem = what muz said

I did a script in php, i run it in my localhost and i need to disconnect from the internet if some conditions are verified by using the command exec("command ms dos")
the aim from this disconnection is to change my public ip not the private the only way is to the disconnect and to connect again
know you the commands to do that ?
