i have just had cable installed, so have to start using i.e. for browsing can anyone tell me how i set up email addresses pleasealso any tips on using i.e. as its very different to aol

Ok I will make a step by step guide.

1. Go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/.
2. Download Firefox.
3. Install it.
4. Open up Firefox.
5. Go to http://www.gmail.com
6. On the bottom right of the screen it will say sign up for gmail.
7. Create an account.

IF you want outlook express look here

Yes - Don't use IE. Firefox is safer, better, faster- and everything else...

for e-mail I recommend Gmail or Yahoo

I agree too. Go with Firefox and use Gmail for your email.

and mozilla makes Thunderbird, just like Outlook. its great. i use it with my gmail account

Definitely use firefox. I've been using it for a few years now and it's great. I don't even touch IE anymore!
Also get Gmail, it's great. I've been using them for a long time and they now offer over 6GB of storage for free and have other neat features such as an online word processor and spreadsheet program. If you want to access your email from your desktop, get thunderbird. I recommend thunderbird because outlook is expensive and not worth going out to buy unless you already have office.
