You mean my old Compaq with a 3gb hd and 64 mb of ram isn't future proof? Lol. Keep your current card. DirectX10 is nice to have when you buy a new card, but don't force the transition.

As you said it probably won't be shipped with retail computers as a standard for at least another year. And by that point prices will have dropped significantly, and the 9 series will be out. Thus allowing you to pay a but-load less for that coveted 8800.

check your sig freestyler, i dont know of any 8900GTX graphics cards,

they havent been released yet. you'll notice the pc in his sig is a planned build.

there are coming out with 8900, thats news to me, i thought they would only go to 8800 and then move on to the 9 series, but i dont know how NVIDIA names their cards

well it has been on the drawing board for most of last year...some say it will never be realeased and they will go straight to the 9000 series

Yeah, that's sorta old. I was planning on the 8900GTX when everyone thought that was going to be the next card.
