HD transfer help

Hi there. I need some help with my hard drives. My old computer's motherboard died and I lost all of my music, photos, and word documents. I was wondering if it is possible to connect the old hard drive to my new computer. Thanks.

Old Computer

eMachines T2682 desktop
Windows XP Home Premium
2.6 Ghz Intel Celeron Processor
256 MB ram
Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 80GB ATA/133 HDD

New Computer

Toshiba Satelite A135 laptop
Windows Vista Home Premium
1.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
1 GB ram
120 GB SATA

yep just it into a spare IDE slot on your motherboard and a spare power connector from your power supply. If your motherboard don't have a spare one just temporarily unplug your cd/dvd drive.

Make sure you set the other HD to slave

What connects the old hard drive to my laptop?

You'll have to get an external enclosure to put it in to use it for a laptop. The external enclosure uses USB to connect to your PC. Like these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...1054107130&Description=hdd+enclosure&name=IDE
