ok im building a computer soon and i know alot about what im looking for but when it comes to a mother board it sometimes get the best of me...

what im wondering is how do i tell if a MB has slots for SLI compatible vid cards... im wanting to make a AWESOME gaming comp and i was wanting to get the SLI 8800GTS

If you want SLI, usually the board specs will say it. There is usually "SLI Compatible" right on the box the mobo comes in, and if you use Newegg, I know they are also under the specification tab. Also, if it has more than 1 PCI-E x16 slot, you can probably still SLI them with the SLI Bridge.

A good suggestion I have from partial experience: Get a REALLY good PSU. Make sure you have at least 650 watts, and 36 or more combined amps. Dual rails or more are a must, even for one 8800, and the GTS even more so than the GT.

well thanks that helps alot... i was actually planning on getting around a 750watt PSU and a quad processor

That will do it! Say, what country do you live in and what is your price range? If we knew that, we could compile a part list for you using a good website.

well i use newegg and im in the US... so an 8800GTS SLI usually cost about $300-$450 depending on all the specs... but yeah if you can find me a good MB thats SLI compatible and can hold an LGA 775 quad then by all means please do

awsome thats looks amazing... lets just hope i have the money to drop into it when im ready to build it

and make sure its a 8800 GTS (G92) version. if it was up to me, id wait for the 9800 GX2(barely around the corner) and id get that
