CPU Idling at 50%-100%, need some help

Ok, well i got some help over aim but its still idling very high.
When I first built this computer I would Idle at 2%-10% but now its reasonably high.
I took some background programs out but I don't know what ones that I need to keep, so I'm sorta stuck there.

Also would a Hijack This help at all?
I have no idea on what they are and how to get the list so I am really screwed.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Well now its ot hitting the 100% mark as often as before. :)
Now its just staying around 50%-80% with indexing off, I like the search imo I don't think it speeds up the search much, I tried it and its still as fast as ever if not a 2 or 3 seconds slower.
 
Try booting into safe mode, and see if it idles that high.

Cause in safe mode only the necessary drivers are ran.
 
DANG, well have you checked for any virus's, also i might do a F&R (format and reload), well that is what i would do. maybe some spyware of virus might be doing that



wait, im pretty sure a virus would still be active even if you boot into safe mode
 
Its no virus I have the Kaspersky free trial and that hasn't picked up anything.
I really want my 0% CPU idles back :(
