temp inconsistancies

alright, i'm looking on the abit utility that came with my mobo (abit ip35 pro) and it's saying my cpu is running at 37C maxed out. core temp(latest one) says around 60 and speed fan is 15 below that. i've heard about the offset on speed fan but what's up with the utility?

it's reading from a m/board diode instead of the cores, my Asus supplied Probe II is the same, it reads 10°C lower than CoreTemp, they're not accurate at all.

The most accurate is the BIOS. Programs are often wrong. For exemple, PC Wizard says my 12V rail is at 11.4V, Whereas the BIOS says it is 12.04V. I know which one I trust.

thanks for the info. it would be nice if the programs did work, i don't want to fry anything -_-.

You won't fry anything unless you pump excessive voltages into it, if the cpu gets too hot the thermal protection kicks in and shuts it down
