OMG i hate steam

is there a way to play half life and stuff w/o steam, cause when im at skool, and i have time off, i like to play it, but know it wont launch HL2 cause im in offline mode......ugh!

you have to download the already cracked version i think, its standalone

Steam works just fine in offline mode for me. Make sure you don't have any ethernet cable plugged in. Steam is kinda picky about that.

Just unplug it for a moment when trying to start steam, then once it's started, plug it back in.

i have same problem steam does not work at school but i live at school is their any settings in steam to make it work here.

I don't even bother doing that at school. Our computers have this software where the administrator can watch everything you're doing and if he sees you doing something you shouldn't, he can kick you off or even take over your computer and close it all for you. Hell, he can even lock it so you can only get a certain program when you log on.

Besides, if I want to play games, I'd play at home.
