ok i have my nice 46inch 1080p sharp lcd my family for for xmass
and we just got a really nice 5.1 surround sound system
now can i hook that up to my pc?

take an optical\digital out from your sound card and plug it into the recivier's inputs....thats the easiest way, you can also convert a jack to 2 mono jacks and plug it in via composites, etc etc. millions of ways we need more info!! soundcard? recivier?

im starting to question rather or not people actually look for answers before they make these threads. there so incomplete and so lazy, i bet you didnt even bother to google an anything beforehand. nor did you provide enough information to even begin to answer the question [/Rant]

um i got standard on board sound card nothing speical
the 3 rows of different color jacks (idk what there called)
and for the speaker system i got a samsung ht x50

if that's the back of your receiver picuted there which i think it is, it only has 1 digital audio in connection which will probably be filled up by the digital audio out cable from your tv or cable/satalite box. i dont see a way for the audio to go from the computer to that receiver unless someone else has any ideas...
