Do you wear glasses?

I've been wearing glasses for 6 years now. I tried contacts before but I didn't like them. I'm waiting for my new prescription to come in!

20-20, been in front of CRT monitors for well over 10 years now. But I keep a good distance. Right now my 19" CRT is about.. 3 1/2 to 4 ft away. Bad vision does not run in my family.

I can look at this thing all day and my eyes don't hurt much, depending on how much reading I do though.

i can sit in front of LCD's much longer than CRT's. both monitors i use to have used a 60hz refresh rate, same as my LCD. if i get slight strain i just turn down the contrast via some presets, really cool feature.

Well it's no wonder you couldn't look at them for too long. 60Hz is way too slow for a CRT imo. I use 85 on mine.

Ouch. I can just tell when a monitor is running at 60hz, and its not good.

they were crappy\old, they couldnt go any higher. i could look at them for a long time compared to some people, 5+ hours in a 5 hours 10min time period

Old? I have a Packard Bell 15" CRT monitor in the other room. Manufactured in August of 1995. 75Hz at 1024x768 = No Problem.

Crappy may be the word.
