To bad I have an SLI board... So i'm aiming towards Nvidia as of now

I have a 2600PRO, the Diamond/PowerColor 512MB one, overclocked quite a bit, max temps it reaches it close to 60C.

i wouldnt get either, rather get a 7900 GS or a 8600 GTS but if you have to pick between those get the ati(though ati isnt reliable*opinion*)

See, I hate it when people do that. People come up with 2 choices and someone goes off with some other ones, even though you were on topic a little.

The 3850 absolutley destroys the 8600GTS. ATI is definitely winning in the midrange. Out of those two cards, the 2600 wins. You can also use this chart to help you: http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html?modelx=33&model1=1059&model2=1066&chart=275
As you can see, the 2600 is clearly the better performing card.
