well i just bought a new cpu for my comp but before i put it in should i get a tube of that cooling gel or whatever to put on it?

Get Arctic Silver 5. There are very detailed instructions on how to apply it on there site.

Obcourse you need it in order to protect your processor. Considering that processor are subject to heat up when our pc is working.

The processor should come with a stock cooler and a pad of the manufaturers thermal interface material already on it, this is sufficient for everyday normal usage.

If you plan to change the stock cooler for an aftermarket one or you plan to overclock using the stock cooler (not really a good idea) then Arctic Silver 5 or Arctic MX-2 (or similar) will be required.

is stock cooling decent , because it carnt be as terrible as i think it is ,can it.

what temps do you see with the stock one
