Installing Linux

The thing is that when users that knows fully how to install Gentoo, they can have it extremmely customised...because you choose what's getting installed and what's not.
this is quite frustrating to know that some labelled as a "guru" does not the fundamentals of Linux.

just a sad thought...

First, I think you were preety dumb not to look at the date. I'm still in learning stage here.
Second, You're even sadder because you can't even correct my error.
Third, you're giving advertising in a post, that would be in an inapropriate section. Reported.

personally my favorite distro. 100% configurable. it's not a newb / first timer distro. but it has the best documentation that i've seen so far.

If you ever have a problem with linux you can always read the man pages
man [command] (such as date, grep)
man [application] (such as xchat or mutt)
this will provide you with detailed information about the command / application. there's also usually tons of documentation / faq at the developer's site. goole helps also.

at first linux will be an uphill battle, you'll struggle to remember commands and not know how to do much. it'll be hard to resist formatting and running back to windows, but after you get use to it. you can do anything on linux that you can do on windows plus more :). knowledge is power

Hi, I haven't seen you posting much lately, are you OK?

I am okay. I have reasons for my lack of posting which probably shouldn't be discussed on the forum but if you want to talk to me in PM about it feel free. I'm now selective of who I respond to more or less which might also contribute to my lack of posting.
