well i am going to change my mobo and get an am2 cpu and get 1 gig of ddr2 ram will that be enough to run without too much bottle neck?

It should be fine, but why not get 2gigs? RAM is so cheap ATM and you could probably pick up 2gigs for about $65.

Believe me, 2gigs will make all the difference, even if you get a value set. Just get a slightly cheaper AM2 board to accomodate for the RAM.
