internet wont work

okay so finnaly i got this one computer running for my brother, but i guess it was from a hospital and i already had to change it to where it automatically gets a ip adress, but its not reciving very many packets and everytime i try to open IE it starts trying to install microsoft office 2003 and then it says can not read from network, so its trying to get the install file off the network, hmm not sure how to fix it to where i can just do everything normal, its a old dell with window's xp pro

Couple of ideas:

1) I'd check where the icons for IE are linked to. Make sure they're linked to IE and not some network path.
2) Did you change the domain its set up on?
3) Try making a whole new admin user.
4) If you have an office install disk, uninstall office and reinstall it.
