The Official CES 2008 Disussion

Why is that? You can watch HD movies on it.

You can do the same with the Xbox 360's external HD DVD drive. There was this whole thing a while ago where you could plug it in, install some drivers and you could watch HD DVDs on your PC. I dunno if Microsoft or Toshiba fixed it, but it might still work.

Becides, HD movies belong on big HDTVs, not small computer monitors.

borat_sagdiyev, that burner seems to just be a DVD burner, that plays Blu-Ray discs. No where does it state in the specifications, that it burns BD media, though... it comes with 25 Blu-ray discs...

It states it burns DVD's, and CD's, and reads BD's.

WRITE Speed
DVD+R 12X
DVD+RW 8X
DVD-R 12X
DVD-RW 6X
CD-R 32X
CD-RW 24X
DVD+R DL 4X
DVD-R DL 4X

Weird...

EDIT:

Ah, nevermind, right at the bottom:

Write : BD-R 2X maximum
ReWrite : BD-RE 2X maximum
Access time : BD Family 350ms

Bit confusing how Newegg puts stuff up though.

Yeah, there are Blu-Ray burners. They're so slow...have fun waiting for that HD movie to burn.
