Anybody got any decent computing analogies that make it easier to explain the operations of a computer? Whilst not being to vague?
Such as the relationship between processor and RAM etc?
I've been trying to think of some decent ones today, but they're not very good, and probably not even very accurate?
Like, CPU and RAM relationship... (please please correct me, make better or offer a dif analogy...)
'CPU is like a brain in our heads, and we use it to calculate a complex maths problem for example. However, we need a work area to fill out our working. Like a desk. This desk is RAM. The bigger the desk, the more room we have to arrange our working in order to do more at once and at quicker speed...'
meh. There are going to be much better than that. Which follow a human body analogy more closely or something like that.
Any help or suggestions?
Could be interesting.
Cheers.
