CS:S (Fun with lots of bots)
COD 1 and COD 2
UT2004

AOE3 works over the LAN, you just need to be fully updated on all systems.
It's very fun but the games go for a long time and there's plenty of slow parts... so good if you want to slow down a bit.

I'm not shallow when it comes to gaming. Play Flatout 2 over the LAN or AOE3 and you'll enjoy yourself.

As far as I can remember I do like Red Alert or Command and Conquer and also the other one which I like to play as well is warcraft.
