Is it possible to hook a disk drive and a hard drive to the same ied cable? I'm pretty sure this is a no but I'm just double checking.

i was wondering the same thing an hour ago but im getting a sata dvd drive so it doesnt matter anymore

Yea, all my parts come tomorrow, except for my dvd drive. I have a extra drive laying around.

Just make the DVD drive the master, and the hard drive the slave... It doesn't really matter, but may help you out when you try to reformat.

My motherboard has only one ied slot. This is for both of my hard drives for now. I ordered a SATA Dvd drive and that doesnt come with the rest of my stuff.

You could always get an IDE to sata adapter for one of your drives also...

It's cheaper than getting a new drive, and would free up your IDE cable.

Eh, too late for that now. I only had a cd rom drive anyhow. I got a Lite-on 20x DVD RW.
