no audio on internet

I made this post in the morning...I have no audio while on the internet but I can hear other stuff such as counterstrike audio and audio thats on my HD(music, vids). Any ideas and all my system volume is turned up I use firefox if that helps.

Then I said I fixed it with a restart....now the problem is back again any ideas? It worked fine for a few hours.

EDIT: Also videos freeze a lot as well on youtube and stuff, they don't play continuously.

I think you should look at the codecs you already have, if it worked before and not now then either your media player is corrupt or your codecs are, unless you have installed a new program recently and the drivers clash with your current media player.
