From HD or CD drive. It starts up, runs the welcome screen, lets you load bios but no other key combinations will work. When it gets done with that, it goes to a black screen and freezes. What could be the cause of this?
When you boot into bios, does it give you an option to change the boot order? If it does, change it to your CD drive or HDD. Can you actually get into bios?
