2 year old compaq and the screen is blurry. what can this be.?

Also do you know what kind of monitor it is? CRT, LCD... what?
Heres some generic things you can do to fix the problem:
1. Update/reinstall your video drivers to see if its a driver problem
2. Right click your desktop, go to properties, and click the settings tab. Raise the resolution of your computer and see if it helps if you can.
3. If your using 32-bit color, try 16-bit color. Its less strenuous and could help resolve the problem. The option to change this is found right next to the resolution drag bar.
4. Then click the advanced tab under the settings tab of the properties box, and a new window should pop up. Click the monitor tab, and try playing around with your refresh rate. Try putting it on its lowest setting, then its highest setting.
If none of this helps try using a different monitor, Compaq doesn't necessarily have the greatest reputation for quality.
