There are so many motherboards out, even for the Q6600. I bought the quad core and need to update my motherboard but I'm having trouble. I am going to be running Vista Ultimate, Q6600, and I plan on getting a single 8800 so I don't think I'll need SLI. I've been looking at the ASUS Striker Extreme and the Maximus but they seem a little overpriced. Any suggestions?

I've got the Intel DP35DP motherboard. Supports quad and DDR3. A lot of bang for the buck.

Thanks guys! Now what about something with some overclocking ability? I like ASUS but I know there are tons of brands out.

Gigabyte P35C-DS3, great motherboard with both DDR2/3 compatibility. great overclocking board. i've personally used this board on more than 10 builds and it has never failed to perform up to par.

the p5e is better then the P5k because it supports the 45nm cpu's, DDR2 and PCI 2.0, so its a pretty futureproof board
