Well I dunno man, that is a tough ass question you are asking. Are we talking best game ever or what?

The best *modern* game, I would have to say is CoD4... it is simply breathtaking. Plus it doesn't rape your system requirements.

The Orange Box was pretty well done too.

if we are talking consoles it is between grant turismo 4 and grand theft auto SA imo
